This is Jenny, Manageress of the shelter. Jenny has been the manageress here since 1991. Jenny often takes in and cares for some of our very old, sometimes terminally ill dogs. These dogs would be virtually impossible to re-home due to medical problems etc and the fact that no one wants a very old or ill dog. Each dog she takes on is practically on deaths door when it comes into our shelter. Jenny takes the dog home presuming she will not have it for long but can make its last few days, months happy ones. Of course, they all bounce back for a while reveling in the "good life" but the time too soon runs out and Jenny makes the last decision to put the dog to sleep. The dog’s best interest is paramount.

Jenny is pictured here with Timmy (her own dog now). Timmy has been with us for a few  years now and although he looks cute and adorable, he is in fact not a re-homeable dog because of his split personality and temperament.

This is Cheryle.  Cheryle has worked at the shelter since 1990. She works in the office and is now a part-time member of staff. She has a great sense of humour and is very interested in native and exotic birds and all wildlife. She is the Shelter’s bird expert. She has 1 cat, 1 parrot and a few resident pigeons.

She has taken many dogs from the shelter over the years, old ones, disabled ones, you name it she's taken it home.  Cheryle has now adopted a little puppy called George who was found dumped with his brother on our doorstep.

Pauline is always welcomed into the office when she brings in her home made cakes for us to sample! (Let's hope Alfie doesn't taste too many!!)
